Thank you for using Meishio. Here are answers to frequently asked questions. If your question is not answered here, please contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.
Where is my business card information stored?
Only on your iPhone. The App has no server and no accounts, and it never sends business card images or text anywhere. Every feature works even without an internet connection.
Which iPhones are supported?
The App runs on iPhones with iOS 26 or later. On models that support Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15 Pro and later), the on-device language model improves the accuracy of field sorting. On unsupported models, the App still reads cards using on-device rule-based processing.
Is there a monthly fee?
No. You can use every feature free of charge for up to 5 cards. If you want to save more, a one-time purchase makes it unlimited and also lets you filter by company, export CSV and PDF reports, and add cards to Contacts in bulk. There are no subscriptions.
I made the purchase, but the limit hasn’t been removed
Tap “Restore Purchases” in the Settings screen. You need to be signed in to the App Store with the same Apple Account.
The reading is wrong
Depending on the card’s design and fonts, reading errors can occur. On the review screen before saving, you can tap a recognized line to move it to the correct field, or type in a correction directly. Accuracy improves if you photograph the card in a bright place, avoiding shadows and glare.
What about double-sided business cards?
If you take a second photo while capturing, it is saved as the back of the card. The text on the back is read as well and merged into the same card’s fields.
Can I add cards to the Contacts app?
Yes. Choose “Add to Contacts” on a card’s detail screen to add it to the Contacts app on your device. You can also export as vCard (.vcf) or CSV.
What happens to my data when I switch to a new iPhone?
Because cloud sync is off by default, restore from your iPhone’s regular backup (an iCloud backup or a backup to your Mac/PC). If you have turned on “Sync with iCloud” in the Settings screen, your cards sync automatically to a new iPhone signed in with the same Apple Account. We also recommend making a backup with “Export as CSV” in the Settings screen.
If I turn on “Sync with iCloud,” can anyone see my business cards?
No. They are stored only in the private area of your own Apple Account, and no third party, including the developer, can see them. If you leave it off, your cards never leave this iPhone.
